Ethics, Technology & Your Law Practice Conference - Full Conference (Credit: 4 PMCLE Illinois)
Published by Law Bulletin Seminars

Summary

We start the program with an insider’s look at an ARDC proceeding, hearing from respected veterans, who will walk us through the timeline of a case through several hypotheticals. The next three panels will cover a technology theme. Everything we do in the practice of law today involves increasing levels of technology. While we did not go to law school to become IT experts, we need to understand how the technologies we rely on can create ethical risks. The second panel will cover issues of client communications, social media, advertising and the attorney-client relationship – each of which have technology related risks that our outstanding panel will identify and offer guidance on minimizing those risks.

Next, we have a panel of technology experts who will highlight some of the ethical pitfalls associated with the everyday practice of law, and then share valuable tips on avoiding those traps for the unwary through effective law practice management.

Our final panel is an entertaining look at conflicts of interest and confidentiality through an interactive presentation.
